Meet The Staff

Heather – Practice Manager

I’ve been working in the dental field since 1998 and cannot imagine doing anything else. I spent the beginning of my career as a chairside dental assistant, and then began to learn the business side of the practice where I felt most at home. After earning my Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credentials, then my Bachelor of Science in Workforce Education and Development, I decided to teach my passion at a local University then found myself as the Director of the Dental Assisting Program. I missed being in private practice so after three years I gave up education and joined Coastal Oral Surgery as Practice Manager in the fall of 2012, where I am thankful everyday to have been awarded this opportunity to work with such an amazing and talented team. I am married and have two minions that I love with all my heart. In my spare time, I enjoy riding motorcycles with my husband and dad and just relaxing with my family.

Michelle – Insurance Coordinator

I joined the Coastal Oral Surgery team as one of the Insurance Coordinators in 2016, and it’s the best position I have ever held. I received my Associates Degree in Medical Administration, Billing and Coding in 2011. It’s very rewarding to know that I am able to apply my skills and knowledge to help patients maximize their insurance benefits ensuring I have tried to save them as much out of pocket expenses as possible. Since receiving my degree, I have worked in both medical and dental offices, expanding my knowledge in the filed. Working directly with patients and having the opportunity to offer assistance to them is truly rewarding. I am happily married with two sons and  a great dane. I consider myself an adventurous person, I enjoy mountain biking, going to the beach and spending time with my family.

Jacquie – Scheduling Coordinator

I joined the Coastal team in the spring of 2013, but started my dental career in 1994. With my extensive background in chairside assisting, I have a deep understanding of treatments, scheduling appointments, and making sure all patients feel welcome and cared for. Originally I’m from Central New York but my family moved to Williamsburg over three years ago to escape the snow! In my spare time, I enjoy shopping with my daughter and spending time watching my son on the baseball field, as well as spending time at the beach and enjoying all the beauty Hampton Roads has to offer.

Kristina – Implant Coordinator/ Surgical Assistant

I completed my Dental Assisting program and obtained my Associate Degree in Applied Sciences in 2010.  My certifications include advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), Infection Control (ICE) ,  Radiation  Health and Safety (RHS) through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB),  as well as by the Virginia Dental Society of Anesthesiology as an Anesthesia Assistant, and through the Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination (DAANCE).

My career started in general dentistry but my passion is oral surgery.  I have always been attracted to surgical procedures and thoroughly enjoy being an Oral Surgery Assistant with Coastal Oral Surgery. One day I hope to attend medical school to further my education and complete all my professional goals and aspirations.  I have a Beautiful little girl named McKenzie who is the joy in my world.  In my spare time I enjoy a very strong yoga practice where I hope to one day be able to teach and spread yoga to all. I am an avid Bee Keeper and I enjoy working my honey bees, as well as painting, riding my motorcycle, getting lost in nature, camping, hunting, fishing, and enjoy every day for the miracle it is! I think of myself as very humble, charismatic, outgoing and compassionate. Integrity is key.    ~Namaste’
