Dr. Christopher Gurries, DDS, Captain US Air Force
Coastal Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Implants, Inc. would like to welcome Dr. Christopher Gurries to our practice. Dr. Gurries will be working here part time, and filling in when Dr. Kiely is out of the office.
Dr. Gurries is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon serving in the U.S. Air Force as a staff surgeon in Virginia. He attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Chemical Engineering. While studying hard for exams, he also earned a varsity letter as a walk-on wide receiver. He was awarded the Air Force Health Professions Scholarship to attend dental school at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA where he graduated with honors.
After dental school, he moved to Travis AFB, CA and completed four rigorous years of training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at David Grant USAF Medical Center. In Virginia, he is able to extend his skills and expertise to the community with an extensive scope of practice. Areas of expertise include general anesthesia and deep sedation, wisdom teeth removal, multiple implant techniques including full arch hybrids, zygomaticus implants, anterior and immediate implants, surgical extractions, bone grafting, sinus augmentation, biopsies, and facial trauma.
Dr. Gurries was born and raised in Northern Nevada where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Sarah. Dr. Gurries, his wife and their children are enjoying exploring the East Coast’s rich history and beauty.
